The Why?

Monica founded iCRAFT Vault Foundation because she recognized a deep need in her community for safe, creative outlets that support healing, confidence, and self-expression for youth. As a registered nurse, mother, and community advocate, she has witnessed firsthand how stress, trauma, violence, and limited resources affect children, often leaving them without healthy ways to process their emotions.

Creativity has always been part of Monica’s family legacy. Her grandmother sewed and created with her hands, her mother worked in event décor and design, her father built, welded, and invented, and her sisters pursued fashion and art. That creativity continues through her own children, spanning sports, design, crafting, and artistic expression. Growing up surrounded by makers taught Monica that creativity isn’t just art, it’s therapy, skill-building, and survival.

iCRAFT Vault Foundation was created to pass that legacy forward by providing youth with hands-on art and craft experiences such as painting, sewing, jewelry-making, and DIY design, paired with mentorship and emotional support. Through creative workshops and community programming, the foundation helps young people build confidence, develop life skills, and see their creativity as a pathway to healing and opportunity.

At its core, iCRAFT Vault Foundation exists to honor generational creativity while creating brighter futures, turning art into a tool for empowerment, resilience, and hope.
